For those of you that missed the IDEA World Fitness Convention last week in Los Angeles, here is a brief recap from Foundation Fitness Territory Manager Michelle Mills. Michelle covers Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona and met with many customers while at the show. Here are her insights from the show:

What was the IDEA show like?
IDEA is a great show because it displays how much energy there is in the fitness industry! It is remarkable to witness the fitness professionals that have such a passion for their craft.

What did you learn from the show this year?
This year’s show made me realize that club operators, directors, and group exercise instructors are all striving to reach the same goal: How do we connect, engage, and inspire our members? What can we do to help our members achieve their fitness goals and keep them coming back for more? With our new top of the line FreeMotion Indoor Cycling Bikes with Power Consoles and Stages Indoor Cycling education program, we have really become the full circle solution to this.

What were some of the attendees’ reactions to the S Series Bikes and Stages Indoor Cycling?
Club operators loved the fact that we provide an education program along with our consoles. It is less pressure for them to implement a program with new equipment when they have professional help in training their staff. This is a great value add to them. The opportunity to actually make a bit of money on their trainings was intriguing to them as well. The fact that Stages has several avenues to promote upcoming trainings in the area to help them fill the class also stuck out to them.
Customers loved the geometry of the bike, the user friendly adjustments, the lightweight handlebars, and the method the power is measured. Unlike other bikes in the industry, the FreeMotion bike measures power directly from the crank arm sensor based off how much torque is put into the bike.

Any last thoughts on the show?
All agreed the power console is an excellent tool to engage their members, ultimately impacting retention and new member acquistion!
